| Abstract： |
This paper introduces the concept of local {\bf C}-cosine family and
inverstigate its basic properties. In particular, a characterization
of the complete infinitesimal generator of a local {\bf C}-cosine family
is obtained. As an application of this theory to the second order abstract
Cauchy problems, a characterization of the local {\bf C}-well-posedness of
these problems is given in terms of the local {\bf C}-cosine family theory. |
