Abstract：
The present paper is devoted to the BVPs of Lopatiaski's type for differential operators of higher order and mixed type. A sign function, on which the formulation of BVPs and regularity of their solutions rely heavily, is associated with characteristic degenerate surface. The bahavior of finite index for such kind of BVPs is found.
