Abstract：
The following results are obtained:
1.A space is submetacompact iff it is almost discretely $\[\theta \]$-expandable and strictly qnasi-paracompact.
2.A space is paracompact iff it is $\[\theta \]$-expandable and strictly quasi-paracompact.
